What Does Music Mean To You?
Sunday, September 5th, 2010Each person has there own favorite genre of music . Some love Country and others Soul . Music play a certain role in our daily lives ,it helps us get through our tragic situations or regulate us in bad ways. although this may not be the purpose of the artist , in their view it’s just music . In the view of the fans it means more than just music . To the audience each song has a meaning to them, a purpose for the creation of the song . What does music mean to you ? This question has been answered lot of times, with different conclusion . Do you enjoy the music you listen to or is it just a song to you? If you have a relationship with your music, do you think it will last for an eternity ? What happens when your favorite artist changes his style just to remain current with the music trends? Will you still respect that artist songs ? Such titles like “Depper Than Rap By Rick Ross” let’s fan know that it’s more than music .Certain styles of music may have been lost, but not forgotten. I can still drive down the street and hear Eazy-E and N.W.A. knocking . It’s been well over a ten years since they rocked the mics, but there songs still reign sovereign when it comes to these current emcee’s . Music never change the artist does. They say Hip Hop is not the same, that’s because their are new artist creating different forms of music . If every emcee was the same, why would you want to listen to there music . I’ve heard some songs from a new artist named “Kurty Durty,” a track called “Jus U And Me.” This track reminds me of old school Hip Hop and how emcee use to poetise.
Songs have a way with listener’s now-a-days. They are intimately consumed by the music they hear . Some fans take there music too serious and end up doing something off the wall just because of the song they heard . Consumers need to take responsibility and understand that everything you hear is not true. Just because an artist promotes sex, drugs and violence doesn’t mean you have to do it. We all love music but at the end of the day, it’s only entertainment. Don’t let the music control you. Control, what a powerful word. Who’s really in control? We all know that the audience controls the music. They decide rather a song is a hit record or not. They also decide rather your album will sell or not. It doesn’t take much to create a hit. Most hits are the beats, not the lyrics. Hot beat+Whack lyrics=Hit, Cool Beat+Tight lyrics=No acknowledgment. It’s time for some real music, lyrics make the artist not the beat.
